UNCLE PERCY WAS THE KING

Postby Chris » 05 Jul 2010, 16:52

When The Great Percy Press died in 1980 the new children's entertainer at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings was a guy called Almond Greenaway. Although not a Punch man he knew Percy's story and was inspired to write a song about him which has a refrain of "When it comes to Punch and Judy, Uncle Percy was the king" - a sentiment I would agree with.

Almond has sung this song all over the world and it is now released on a collection - but it can be bought and downloaded as a single if you wish.

It hasn't much to say but has got to be worth 79p pence.
