So which Punch enthusiasts are off to Blackpool next week?

No sideshows this year, sadly, but there is a Punch show.

Well I have heard that a certain Prof James Arnott will be there, also Profs Slater, Wilde, Hanton and Dann will be sampling Derek's Delights, as I will. There are sure to be others.
I wonder how Mel Mellers will go down with the Blackpool crowd? (Remember him at the PJF May Fayre Party last year) He's brilliant in cabaret but how will he cope with that enormous audience?

Yes, stomach bug permitting I'll be there.

I'm sure Mel will be great, but probably at his best in the smaller show on the Saturday afternoon in the Pavillion Theatre.

Great weekend! Lots of fantastic entertainers and shows! Mel Mellers was the highlight of the whole weekend and he happened to win The Ken Dodd Comedy Award!

Heres some pictures of Michael Diamonds show.

Thanks Dan, I was hoping you would have taken pictures of Michael's Punch Show which was not part of the Magic Convention but part of Showzam, an attraction next door to the Convention venue. I thought Michael's show creditable bearing in mind that he is not a Punch specialist.

Yes I too thoroughly enjoyed Mel Mellors. I also would single out the fabulous illusion act from Holland, Prince of Illusion, beautifully choreographed with wild Witches and Baron Samedi. Also there was the brilliant Black Art (not Black Light) performance of Les Chapeaux Blancs, the like I haven't seen since the days of Gogia Pasha. Marko Karvo from Finland was an absolutely superb Dove act. Now I am not keen on dove productions but this guy was so smooth, so clever, I was converted even before his spectacular ending with a Cockatiel and Macaw flying round the huge Opera House auditorium.

There were also not a few disappointing acts and some very unfunny comedy.
