The leaves are falling

I looked out of the window this morning and thought it was November.
Now I'm reminded that the summer season is all but over.
The deckchairs are being put back into storage for another year.
Many of the early season bookings were lost due to flooded grounds, the last few lost due to foot & mouth.

I'm glad I live in London - where it just takes an hour to get to the top of the road in your car! And when you're working outside it's only the gangs of hooded teenagers on bikes throwing their water bombs at the show to put up with.

Toby's been quarantined after being bitten while visiting a local housing estate. My car has a severe dent in it after parking under a tower block when someone threw a mattress out of the window.
I also remember the time when walking up Nelson Mandella Way between shows when I spotted someone's false leg lying in the road.

Still, that's showbiz, and I'm still wearing the sparkly jacket!
Im above all this!!

Your mother told you to get a proper job, but would you listen?
Did I ever tell you about piece work?

My mum told me to get a proper job too, David.
That's why I'm going to come and bottle for you in the park.

Come on David. Lyrical but premature. The season's still got a lot left in it . It's flat out time, every day from now to September 2 and then every weekend till the end of the month and some odd mid-weeks too.

Don't wish the season away. Next year is Leap Year and that will almost certainly push the season back a week though likewise it will end a week later.

I'm sure the season hasn't ended yet David but are you sure its kind to let poor Martin stagger around with all the weight of that bottle?
