Charity Stall

The D.W. Foundation for Foundlings was present at the May Fayre this year, with a stall raising funds for the PPPPA (preservation of punch, puppet and pelham artifacts). Among the items for sale I was curious, inspired by Tony James' obsession with cross-dressing puppets, to discover that some of the costumes were apparently deliberately made not only the wrong way round but also inside out. How could this be? Not only that but it looked to me that one Wal Kent figure had open flies, but I couldn't swear to that.

Your caption to the picture is a little unfair, Chris, especially to the person with the slightly fuller figure...even though Covent Garden was flatter as a result. I, however, don't mind being called a Chicken...its better than a Turkey anytime!

If the cap fits Geoff! .......... but I would remind you that not all elephants are overweight. Actually you should be flattered:

WHITE ELEPHANT n.
A rare whitish or light-gray form of the Asian elephant, often regarded with special veneration.

As for the chicken. Just look at those legs. Now there's fat for you!
