While I am having a frenzy of photo posting .. I may as well show you a new Puppet ( recently new -this Summer).
'old' Judy is now retired to the Spare set , poor old gal.

Oddly enough, Mr Punch's next wife is also called JUDY.

Its a new Mr Punch in the middle ...that angle didnt do him any favours , so heres some clearer ones. The white head next to it is a fibreglass pull I took from a mould I made of my original Mr P ( while it is not important to me that they be identical ..I did try for a similarity , which I think I have achieved quite well considering the two heads were carved 5 or 6 years apart and by fairly differing methods - no 'lamination' in this second head ).

For those with an interest in such things ...the nose , chin
and ear-fronts are made from Oak this time .
( Nose and chin were cut in half and hollowed out before
assembling to help keep the weight down )

And as you can see , when it is carved , I cut the head in half and do a through hollow out , to keep the overall weight as low as possible.
A mix of PVA glue , sawdust and paint (in this case red- others on different heads to suit each character / costume) adds a strengthening layer over the myriad of bandsaw cuts that shaped the face .
