To my own amazement I have found out by accident that you can sew across Hot-Melt Glue ...IF it is only spread very thinly AND you are using a "Denim /Jeans" needle.

I put the first diamond shapes onto the base fabric using a blob of glue in the centre ( planning to only sew around the edges ) ..But then I found that I wanted to "Quilt" across the diamond , and had done several before I remembered there was glue under there ( lucky I had spread thin)

But it does work ..and a nice easy way to position things for aplice work ..faster than pins.

Michael Ball :
I took Joe Burns advice and dusted off my OverLocker for this part ( otherwise it would have meant cutting by hand with scissors and then zig -zag stitch a couple of times over the cut to bind it ) = this much Faster and a nicer finish:

With the main costume fabric and Ruff ..I can already see that I am really liking the colour combinations.

And now the Fun can really start with the Braids :-)

Well I have had a huge break from puppet building .
11 weeks away from home working on a Harry Hill Movie ( due out Dec 6th in time for Christmas )

But now I am now back to it with a vengeance !
And with less than a week to starting up at Heights of Abraham 2013 ...I am slowly 'getting there' there with my Joeys.

The next few days should see him done.

The One Man Band version is looking hopeful ( hopeful in that all the clanging / banging parts seem to actually work !)..although he is very far from costumed or completed.

As promised a couple of months back , I am only going to post pictures on this board of things which are actually finished ....so with any luck I will do just that in a few days time.

But anyone wanting to see a workshop update can find it in the "Joeys 2013" set on my flickr site:

Good Luck to anyone else similarly busy getting new stuff ready for use in the Summer Holidays.

Best
