Passing the hat for Punch

I've started an online fundraising campaign to bring Punch and Judy to my corner of the world.

The about half or more of the amount raised will be used to purchase a set of puppets from one of our members here on this forum.

In two days I've raised 1/6th of my goal, almost enough for a Punch and a Judy!

The goal is more than I need for a basic set of nice puppets. It includes money for supplies to build a booth and get a small sound system. So even if I don't reach the stated goal, I'll be able to get a nice cast of characters.

It was odd to just go public asking for money, but there was really nothing at all to lose by trying.
