College Punch and Judy but a lesson

Postby Harvey » 26 Jan 2015, 15:39

in college we have to run our own lesson I thought about doing something on Puppetry but have no idea where to start.
All I can think about doing is teaching them Ventriloquism
Has anyone got any ideas?

You have to start with a lesson plan. Think of what you want them to be able to achieve by the end of the lesson and then devise ways of helping them achieve this. It can be more difficult than you at first think: you will have a bunch of students waiting for you to tell them what to do and you must be able to identify their mistakes and needs, and then be able to explain, and demonstrate, how they can do it better. Oh yes, and then there may well be the student who thinks its a challenge to disrupt the lesson. Your college tutor will most likely want to see written back up of your plan, and a report on how it went. Good Luck!

Hi Harvey,

There are many lesson plans on-line based on puppets. They are mainly aimed at younger children but might be fun for College students?

For example: ... sson-plan/
This resource contains several plans:

You might want to consider how puppets might relate to your college subjects or issues you're all facing (coping with budgets, etc.)? What subject(s) are you studying?
