Professor Bonkers is proud to present his traditional Punch and Judy show. The show involves some of the routines that we all love to see in Punch and Judy, as well as some new ones! The show is perfect for the whole family, and will fit in well with schools, for learning about Victorian Life, Seaside resorts etc. The Show is suitable for birthday parties for children between the ages of 4 and 11 and even gets the adults in on the fun aswell!
Punch and Judy, Magic & Cabaret
The Children's magic show is great for children of any age. Professor Bonkers creates the show around the audience, so that nobody is left out. If the majority of the audience is made up of young children, then the bright colourful props are best, to keep them attentive throught the show. If there are more older children and adults in the audience, then we provide more sophisticated magic, to keep them entertained. The show can be lengthened and shortened to meet with your requirements.
The Cabaret involves magic, song, dance and comedy. All brought together to produce a show for the whole family. This show has been presented for numerous groups, such as the Southern and Scottish Energy Social club, Womens Institute, Golden Wedding anniversaries and many more - it's very popular. The magic is more adult based than the children's show - including famous illusions such as the Sub Trunk, and even an electric version of the 'sawing in half illusion'. However, all the illusions are presented with a lighthearted attitude, and 'gory bits' are kept to a minimum!
I have been interested in entertaining since a very young age, and aged only 11, I got a job with Bournemouth Bourough Council, performing at the Children's Entertainment in Bournemouth Gardens, as well as on Boscombe Beach, and in the Bordem Buster Playschemes. I have worked for companies such as the BBC, Southern and Scottish Energy, local dramatic groups, Liberty Entertainments, and Bonka's Entertainments, which have taken me all over the country! I started taking private bookings at the age of 12, and have never looked back. Aside from the family entertainments, I have appeared in the touring productions of 'Joseph...' with Bill Kenwright, 'The Demon Headmaster', and countless amateur productions locally. I also appeared in a professional production of 'Peter Pan' with Matthew Kelly as Captain Hook. I enjoy everything I do, and I beleive that you can only give a good performance if you enjoy doing so. My theory is that if you don't enjoy performing, your audience won't enjoy watching, and I always strive to acheive this quality in my shows.
The schools programme would involve a look at the history of Punch, and the children would get a look at the puppets, as well as 'a day in the life of a Punch Performer', which explains what I have to do to prepare the show.
